¿Quebecois? ¿Quebecúas? Who Cares?

¿Qué esperar de un matrimonio? Dos quebecúas con rostro de psicópatas, que además de lo obvio, saben usar toda una variedad de instrumentos. ¿Una banda? ¿Una melódica variación de Bonnie and Clyde? ¿Uno y otro? Tal vez. Lo cierto es que un matrimonio no fue suficiente. Habría que llamar a los cuates. Colmar los silencios.
¿Cómo mirar a siete quebecúas —incluido aquel matrimonio— intercambiando entre track y track la batería y la guitarra y el bajo y el teclado? No sólo eso: también el piano y el arpa y el violín y la harmónica y el chelo y el acordeón y el xilófono y la viola. ¿Mirarlos? Con una dulce incredulidad, seguramente.
¿De qué manera interpretar al Indie Rock multi-instrumental, con voces desgarradoras; Vocingleras, plagado de abruptas discordias y letras lastimeras que sólo fortalecen el propósito de arruinar cualquier intento de apoltronarse parsimonioso a escuchar un disco? Según ellos, con pericia desparpajada. Para muestra, un botón:

Arcade Fire formed around the husband and wife duo of Butler and Chassagne. Joining together as recently as mid-2003, the current lineup solidified in late 2003/early 2004, when their first full-length album Funeral was recorded. Arcade Fire is known for its enthralling live performances, as well as its use of a large number of musical instruments. The promise showed by the band in its live shows allowed it to land a record contract with Chapel Hill-based independent record label Merge Records.

Their first full-length album, Funeral, debuted in September 2004 in the USA and in February 2005 in the UK, and was very highly acclaimed by critics.
